Mary Joyce Bland

Mary Joyce Bland was born and raised in Havre de Grace, Maryland, where she was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She attended Messiah College in Grantham, PA, where she earned her BS in nursing. Upon graduating in 1991, she moved to Columbia, SC, where she now resides with her husband, David, and their three children, Colin, Kyle and Karis.

After working in Palmetto Richland's children's hospital for 10 years, she left the challenges and long hours of management to work part time in an office as a pediatric urology nurse. She has used her nursing skills to do short term work in Puerto Rico where she completed pediatric physicals and performed gynecological exams for impoverished women.

As a member of Riverbend Community Church, she serves on the Worship Ministry Leadership Team and plays keyboard as a worship team member. She, along with three other worship team members, recently had the privilege of participating in a United World Mission conference in Hungary.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1979 and wants all God's children to know him in an intimate, personal way.
